Good things come in small packages

For me it would rain red roses,
wonders and miracles to meet
and luck would open each door that closes,
like a hand from above, delivered with love

Wonders and miracles to meet, this is what I got with this small package and have always felt blessed to have this child.  Everyday is full of wonder and miracles and the lessons I have been taught by this small package is numerous and I am grateful for each one.  Don't blink.  These pictures are 20 years old, unbelievable.  Now this child has brought her own small package into the world.  I am truly blessed to experience 4 generations being in the same room.  I have to wonder was this what it was like for my mother when I had this small package and my grandmother was still with us?  I was in a different spot in the family line up then and didn't realize all the miracles around me.  I have been bumped up in rank now and try my hardest not to blink, I don't want to miss anything.
The lyrics above are from a song sung by Rene Caron, it is truly beautiful.  This is the challenge song over at Scapping the Music and I was inspired to join in on the challenge.  The video is below if you would like to give a listen.

Sweet

September already, wow!  This year is flying by.  It's time for a new challenge at Scrap It Girl, it's a recipe this time and I gotta say I really had to think on this  one, getting all the ingredients to flow.  The recipe is to use twine, arrows, circles, bird and the color red.
I used the twine on the bottom of page and to attach sign together, I have to admit I only have one arrow here, sorry.  The circles are the pic and I stamped red circles on the background paper, the embellie with the bird near the top is a circle and some dies I used are circular.  I actually have three birds the one in the corner , one on  the sign and the bird in the embellie, and my red is also in the paper I laid down behind photo and my red circle, I didn't use a lot but it is there.

If you enter this month you will have a chance to win this fabby prize, just in time for Halloween!

One layer, one layer ....mmmmm....what to do, I struggle with this the most in my crafting, to me this is really hard.  This is what I came up  with for the one layer challenge at Stampotique Designers Challenge.  You may use any stamps in this challenge, but I love Stampotiques stamps.  I made this by stenciling the black checker board over my Stampotique stamp (Relaxin) after I had stamped and masked it, then stenciling the red heart and stamping the saying, it's all one layer, flaaaaat as can be.

Back to School

Great news!!  I have been selected to be on the design team for Scrap It Girl!!!

For  August # Challenge: What’s your #? Use your favorite #s or just random #’s on your project.
I thought I would go with the back to school theme. Since it's that time again.   I created a trio to work together to appreciate our teachers out there.  A little lunch sack to place a surprise in , hopefully a good one maybe a cupcake, yum!, a card so my youngest can write a handwritten thank you note on the inside and a little pencil holder filled with pencils for a gift.

I really like the background on the card and the pencil cup which is actually a tomato paste can,  I embossed black cardstock and then brayed over it with white ink, I kinda think it looks like a chalkboard.
For the card I stamped the image, colored it in, die cut it out added some more die cuts with dsp a button  and apple with some extra numbers.
On the pencil cup (tomato paste can)  I first put washi tape around the top and bottom then added a layer of gesso and glued down the embossed background paper, stamped and colored the girl again   I popped her on the can with some extra numbers, apples and a tag.  This is the perfect size for a pencil holder.
I stamped the bag with random numbers , die cut the top , added some dsp more die cuts and a tag with twine.  Super easy and quick.

Come and join in the (just click the link below)
August # Challenge: What’s your #? Use your favorite #s or just random #’s on your project.

How many books did you read this month?
How many kids do you have?

Or just your favorite number?

"uncle Kenny, I farted, can you smell it?"
Yes I said those words but in my defense I was a cute little girl at the time standing on the truck seat while my uncle drove.  This is the story I heard over the July 4th holiday when my family came down to visit.
When I seen the challenge at Scrap It With A Song (Flo Rida- Wild Ones) I knew I had to do this page.  Although this was the first time I heard the "fart" story, I had heard many stories of my uncle and dad doing crazy things and apparently the were pretty wild so my inspiration was the words from the song "wild one". I just gotta say Scrap It With A Song is very inspirational.

I also followed the sketch from PageMaps

I LOVE this sketch,
everything just fell together perfectly,
PageMaps is offering a huge prize of embellies
for the winner

The challenge over at Fab n Funky is "Summer Holiday"  This page that I did, so far has been my best summer holiday memory, my family came to visit over July 4th weekend.  We didn't go anywhere or do anything specific, we just hung out and enjoyed each others company and told "fart" stories, it was fab.  I hope I haven't stretched the challenge to far, check out what the design team made at Fab n Funky.

The Fabulous Friday challenge at Frosted Designs is "Stamping" and Pink By Design Stamps is the sponsor.  The inspiration over at Frosted Designs is fabulous, I am lovin Lori's page and Happy Birthday Lynne!  I stamped on my layout the numbers in the upper left, the date and the saying on the bottom of the photo.

Thank you all for looking
